Guanajuato: The Favorite Wellness Destination (Travel Pulse)

According to a Guanajuato Tourism press release published by specialized Travel & Lifestyle website, Travel Pulse, the state of Guanajuato is one of the most preferred destinations in Mexico for wellness tourism. You can find a wide variety of wellness activities to do; go to a yoga class, cycle around the city, enjoy a wine tasting, relax with a spa treatment, try some of the local beer, mezcal or tequila or enjoy one of the many activities available in the state.

In 2017 Guanajuato participated, as well as 100 countries around the world, for the first time at the “Global Wellness Day”, in which the destination offered specialized physical activities and conferences to be conscious about the importance of taking care of yourself, the others and the ecosystems.

At the Spa segment, the destination offers Signature Spas like Sense at the Rosewood hotel (San Miguel de Allende), in which you can find main activities like Pilates and Yoga, with instructors and personal trainers at the fitness center, or corporal treatments to relax your mind and body.

Float Sano is a float spa and fitness center located in San Miguel de Allende, its focused on the body and mind´s health, it also offers two private float rooms, an infrared sauna, a massage/ therapy room, fitness studio and roof terrace. Essential Massage and Watsu Spa, a place to reconnect with life´s essentials, the massage is more than just moving oil, it’s the mindful touch of the massage therapist with its healing intentions.

In Guanajuato, you can also program wine, beer, mezcal and tequila tastings. Recently Guanajuato celebrated the “International Gastronomy Summit: Guanajuato sí sabe”, in which for 12 days, traditional and international chefs are invited to show and cook the most important local dishes. The most recognized restaurants are: Apri, in charge of Chef Matteo Salas, with a 14 time-dinner, a total “Gourmet Experience”, La Virgen de la Cueva, a new gastronomical proposal with more than 50 years of tradition, specialized in Mexican local food and the most ancestral recipes.
