Guanajuato works in a regulation for the protection of animals

Mayor of Guanajuato, Edgar Castro Cerrillo announced that the Municipality works in a regulation for the protection of animals, which is expected to be permanent, during the start of the First Canine Fair, “My pet, My best friend ” (Feria Canina: Mi mascota, mi mejor amigo).
The fair’s objective is to create social awareness, about the responsibility of having a pet.

The Director of Health, Enrique Marmolejo Olea, said that the Health Secretariat made 63 sterilizations in a single day, stressed that this work has increased twice as much in comparison to previous years, but there is still a lot of work to be done on this matter.

Erika Alcocer, Member of the State Animal Association, stressed that to date there is absolutely no education on animal care at schools as part of the regular programs,  and therefore,  street cats and dogs are constantly being mistreated by human beings, and that kind of behavior must be punished.
