Today, August 21, there is a solar eclipse, which can be fully appreciated in the United States. While in Mexico it can only be seen partially.
The entities in which the solar eclipse, from 50% to 70%, will be most appreciated are Baja California, Sonora, Coahuila, Chihuahua, Nuevo León.
While in Tamaulipas, Baja California Sur, Sinaloa, Nayarit, Jalisco, Colima, Zacatecas, Durango, San Luis Potosí, Aguascalientes, Guanajuato, Querétaro, Veracruz, Hidalgo, Puebla, Tlaxcala, Estado de México, Mexico City, Tabasco, Chiapas, Campeche, Yucatan, Quintana Roo, will appreciate 25% to 50% of the eclipse.
It is estimated that in San Miguel, the partial solar eclipse can be seen around 13:30 hours.
It is also worth mentioning that, today Monday 21 of August is also the beginning of the school year 2017-2018.
Is It Safe To Look At A Solar Eclipse Through A Window? Take The Proper Precautions First
Because windows do not block out the potentially damaging solar rays that could cook your retina, it’s absolutely not safe to watch the eclipse through a window without protective eyewear. Time magazine reported: “The total solar eclipse, which has been dubbed ‘The Great American Eclipse,’ will last for about an hour and a half overall, but each city that catches the eclipse will only see it for a matter of minutes or seconds.

While it’s never safe to look directly at the sun with your naked eyes, during the duration of this celestial event you should not look at the sun without approved solar eclipse glasses.
