Rotary Helping World Become Self-Sufficient

One hundred years ago, the Rotary Foundation was born to charitably give a helping hand to people in need all over the world through various service projects. Today, those projects are carried out in communities like ours internationally with the goal of assisting people to become self-sufficient.

Come to Rotary Tuesday, August 22, at 12:30 p.m. when former Rotary president Tony Ronci will share how more than a million USD has been invested locally and three billion USD has been invested internationally toward these noble ends. The meeting will be at Hotel Mision, Salida a Queretaro 1, free and in English.

Locally, Rotary service projects have led to access to information, cultural enrichment, housing, health, water resource development, education, child development, emergency services, environmental betterment, and peace initiatives.

Ronci is a long-time Rotarian who lived and practiced law in the western New York area before moving to San Miguel seven years ago.

Rotary Tom Schneider with the peace pole Rotary established in Parque Juarez, one of the many service projects that Rotary champions internationally to help bring self-sufficiency to the world.

Rotary is where neighbors, friends and problem solvers share ideas, join leaders and take action to create lasting change. For more information, contact President Fred Collins at presidentmidday@berkleyline.com and see RotarySMAMidday.org.
