Federal Police officers find 10,000 liters of stolen fuel in Salamanca

One week ago, Federal police agents discovered and seized in Salamanca, Guanajuato, a site where illegally extracted fuel from Petroleos Mexicanos (PEMEX) oil pipelines was stored.

Police officers were astonished to discover a container buried on site, which served as a cistern, with capacity of 10 thousand liters, filled to its maximum capacity with stolen gasoline.

The finding was made as they were traveling on a dirt road located near the community of San Vicente Flores, municipality of Salamanca, Guanajuato.

Inside the same property, four plastic containers filled with one thousand liters of diesel each; and 240 extra liters of gasoline were also found along with a 2.5 inch and 15-meter long hose, and empty plastic containers that were apparently used to tap the pipelines.
