Head of local criminal group gunned down by police near San Luis de la Paz

Yunuel Guerrero Alvarado, the alleged head of a local criminal group was killed on Thursday, September 28, outside the town of San Jose Iturbide, by ministerial police officers.

Agents of the ministerial police chased an old model white Ford Grand Marquis down the San Luis de la Paz-San Jose Iturbide highway, and then a confrontation took place at kilometer 028 + 500 of this road, about 20 miles northwest of San Miguel de Allende.

Salvador Sandoval Sandoval, 38, from Michoacán was arrested.

Four men managed to flee the scene, but they were caught 300 meters down the road by federal police, and members of the Mando Único, and at that point, a second confrontation took place.

Yunuel Guerrero Alvarado died, age 33 was shot down during the confrontation, and three men were captured, authorities have not revealed details on these subjects identity.
