“León Tour” touristic route launched in León, Guanajuato

LEÓN, Gto.- With an investment of ten million pesos, tranport company Flecha Amarilla started operations of the León Tour, which will tour the most important tourist attractions of the city, such as the Historic Center, the Leather Zone and the footwear outlets.
The service features three double-decker buses with capacity for 73 people each, including a guiding audio system in Spanish and English, and it will soon be launched also in German and Japanese.

The tour starts and ends at the Cultural Forum, and includes Explora Science Center, Historic Center, Barrio de San Juan de Dios, the Leather Industry Zone, Leon’s Poliforum, and the Shoe Gallery, among other sites.

There will be a cultural route, a tour especially designed for students and a “Special Tour” that will allow to attend specific events, in attention to groups that are visiting the city for conventions, exhibitions or social events.

The hours of operation will be from Tuesday to Friday from 16:00 to 20:00 hours and Saturdays and Sundays from 9:00 to 18:00 hours. For the school route the schedule will be from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. from Tuesday to Friday. The cost is 85 pesos per person, with discount for students and senior citizens (INAPAM).

León Tour offers travelers an app available for IOS and Android, as well as the leontour.com.mx website, in addition to Facebook and Twitter social network platforms.

Alejandro Oviedo Herrera, vice president of the Board of Directors of Grupo Flecha Amarilla, said that the app provides the user with geo-referenced information of the place where it is located, and will allow you to visit places of interest such as: restaurants, places of purchase and recreation, among others; creating a synergy with tourism and local commerce.
