The state of Guanajuato has already exceeded 1,000 cases of dengue, which places it in first place at national level in number of confirmed cases of this virus.
The Secretary of Health of Guanajuato (SSG) informed that the cut made on Thursday, September 21, corresponding to week 38, recorded 1,166 confirmed cases of dengue, of which one 1,105 are simple dengue fever.
644 of these cases were recorded in León; 370 in Celaya and 91 in Juventino Rosas. Therefore, the municipality of León has the highest number of confirmed patients.
As for the fumigation activities, the Ministry of Health detailed that 310 neighborhoods in León have been fumigated, which corresponds to a population of 780,000 residents who are now protected.
Talking about in-house spraying, 2,535 homes have been sprayed, and in larval control there is a significant advance too, according to the Secretary of Health of Guanajuato (SSG).
Breeding sites of the mosquito transmitting the virus, have been eliminated in more than 150 thousand houses in the municipalities of Leon, Celaya and Juventino Rosas have been reviewed by local authorities and an environmental fumigation operation in 25 thousand hectares is currently taking place in the area.
The SSG recommends the population to continue maintaining preventive measures such as disinfection in homes, use of mosquito nets in doors and windows as well as the use of long sleeved shirt and mosquito repellent.
