On Thursday, September 8th, the placement of the Bando Solemne officialized the beginning of the Fiestas Patrias in the city of San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato.

Mayor Ricardo Villarreal led the ceremony along with other officials of the municipal administration, and the recently elected queens of San Miguel.

As tradition marks, the sign with the program of the national holidays was placed in the four cardinal points of the main garden, downtown San Miguel.

Mayor Ricardo Villarreal said in his message that preserving traditions is a fundamental part of the identity of the city of San Miguel.

The ensemble of the choir network of the Municipal Transit direction (red de coros de la dirección de Tránsito Municipal), the Queen’s Dragons war band (la Banda de Guerra Los Dragones de la Reina), the House of Culture Choir Network (Red de Coros de la Casa de Cultura) and a brass band were presented.

The fair program includes all civic, religious, artistic and traditional events from 8 September to 15 October.
