The University of Guanajuato commemorates its 285th anniversary, and Rector General Luis Felipe Guerrero Agripino announced a series of events and activities to endorse the institution’s commitment with the Guanajuato society and the college community.
These actions include a profound reform to the University Social Service process and procedure. A reform to the Radio Universidad de Guanajuato format, including a renewal of its collection, and a new schedule. In addition, merit recognition processes will be activated, such as the Honoris Causa and Magna Cum Laude; a greater approximation is planned with fraternities, graduates and retirees, and emblematic academic projects will be set up to address specific social and community problems such as the Social Violence Prevention Program and the Program for Prevention of Situations of Risk and Disaster, just to mention a few.
Guerrero Agripino said that the University of Guanajuato emerged from its original educational, scientific and cultural project to evolve into “an institution totally committed to our history”.
During this solemn session of the 285th anniversary, Mariano González Leal, graduated and exprofesor of the exfaculty of Law along with historian and official chronicler of the city Jose Eduardo Vidaurri Aréchiga made a historic recollection of the University of Guanajuato.
