Come Enjoy Christmas Carols at Rotary

It happens only once a year, so it is anticipated for 364 other days each year: Yes, Christmas. No matter what your faith, Christmas brings with it a warm feeling, something called the spirit of Christmas.

This warm feeling is brought to us through many channels, one of the most prominent of which is Christmas carols.

They are some of the last remnants of the oral tradition. They hail back to the Middle Ages when those seeking resources would wander the streets singing holiday songs in hopes of earning small gifts of money, food, or compassion to help them subsist. These songs brought out the generosity of others, a tradition that continues today.

Come to Rotary Tuesday, December 12, at 12:30 p.m. to join in singing Christmas carols with the San Miguel Singers led by Liz Stone, and engender the generosity of spirit that signifies this beautiful season. No matter what, these carols will warm your heart at Hotel Mision, Salida a Celaya 1.

Stone is a professional music teacher, conductor and performer who is known for her hand bell choir, her piano playing at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship here and her free public Christmas concerts at Rotary, St. Paul’s Church and the Jardin. This concert will feature 20 local singers who have been meeting weekly for the joy of singing together, and Lorelei Capell, who will accompany on piano.
