Muncipality of San MIguel de Allende registers temperatures below zero
Cold front number 23 remains stationary and its polar air mass maintains temperatures of 5 degrees Celsius below zero in the highlands of the state of Guanajuato.
The Guanajuato Meteorological Service of the National Water Commission reported that the lowest temperatures were registered in the communities of La Quemada, in San Felipe; The Ortega, in Ocampo; Caballeros in San Miguel de Allende; Adjuntas, in Manuel Doblado; and La Cieneguilla, in Tierra Blanca, with 5 degrees Celsius below zero (28 F°).
Other 35 mountain communities have registered temperatures of 4, 3 and 2 degrees Celsius below zero.
Authorities of the municipalities of the north and south of the state have begun the distribution of blankets as a precautionary measure in the rural areas most affected by lextremely ow temperatures.
The State Coordination of Civil Protection announced that temporary shelters have been installed in 46 municipalities across the state in order to provide food and shelter to the population in need.
