Punto Guanajuato: a space that seeks to attract more Spanish travelers to our state

On January 15, 2018Punto Guanajuato arrived at the Alcolea Gallery; a space of Guanajuato in Madrid, Spain; which invites visitors to enjoy the tourist offer of this important cultural tourism destination that has positioned itself as the 6th most visited in Mexico.

The Secretary of Tourism of the State of Guanajuato, Fernando Olivera Rocha, led the opening ceremony, and announced the official inauguration of this space that seeks to motivate the visit of more Spanish tourists to Guanajuato.

In his message, Olivera Rocha thanked the Ambassador of Mexico in Spain, Roberta Lajous for her support in the promotion of Guanajuato. In this regard, the Tourism Secretary declared that in the last 4 years, the arrival of Spanish tourists to the state of Guanajuato has increased from 35 thousand to 75 thousand per year.

From January 15 to 21 at Velázquez Street # 12, Madrid, Spain; the Secretariat of Tourism of Guanajuato will be presenting different activities to promote its cultural and gastronomic offer, highlighting the exhibition called ‘Astral Experience in the Bajío: Cielos Guanajuatenses‘ ; which is one of the main attractions at Punto Guanajuato, that the visitor can enjoy through the senses: sight, hearing, taste and smell.

This multisensory experience was presented in a closed space, offering attendees the screening of a film accompanied by a video mapping presentation.

Another attraction is the ‘Show Room’, that transports visitors to the Magical Towns of Guanajuato through projections on walls, where they will live virtual travel experiences in different segments. Supported by Ipads or tablets, visitors are able to navigate Guanajuato.mx where they can consult and check tour packages, itineraries, pricings, etc.

Seminars will be held with Bloggers and business partners, as well as specialized conferences for Madrid’s university students.

Guanajuatense artisans will highlight their talent through a demonstration of the art of Cartonería; and renowned cooks and chefs from the state of Guanajuato, will teach different Gastronomy workshops, featuring prehispanic andl colonial cuisines.

Herbalist Workshops will be also a part of this event, in order to present the healing benefits of plants and herbs; as part of the  ancestral heritage of the Otomi Chichimeca Peoples.
