Sanctions will apply to non-compliant public transport permit holders: Villarreal

San Miguel de Allende.-Mayor Ricardo Villarreal announced Tuesday January 30, that if the concessionaires do not comply with the agreements made for public transportation improvements after the increase in the rate last year, there will be no concession or new permits, and the corresponding sanctions will be applied.

In March of last year, when the increase in the public transport fare was approved, the agreement with the permit holders was that they would install free Internet in their units, that there would be a music modulator, that the vehicles would be painted in order to provide the user with a better service.

That term expired in September 2017, but by request of the permit holders, the City Council authorized an extension until November. They were given three more months to complete the improvements on the transportation service.

However, two months after the deadline, Mayor Ricardo Villarreal declares that the agreements have not been totally met.
