With the aim of providing a high quality service, agents of the Tourist Police are trained on the history and significance of the main State Capital tourist attractions, in collaboration with staff of the Association of Hotels and Motels of Guanajuato.
This 8-hour traning program, which is given to the 45 participating officers by personnel of the Guanajuato Directorate General of Tourism, is part of the commitment of collaboration established by the municipal government presided by the mayor Edgar Castro Cerrillo, with the business sector of the tourist industry in Guanajuato.
The objective is to train these police officers so they can be capable of providing tourists with information about the most important tourist attractions in the city.
The Director General of Citizen Security, Christian Ortiz Muñiz, said that this type of training is of the utmost importance because Guanajuato is a tourist city that needs a police corporation featuring trained personnel in order to protect, guide and serve tourists.
