The Guanajuato Mexico Rally 2018 will bring a significant economic impact to the state

“It is estimated that the Guanajuato Mexico 2018 Rally, which will be held from March 8 to 11, will leave an economic renevue of approximately 41 millions pesos (2.1 million USD), and an influx of more than 25,000 visitors along with a general hotel occupancy of over 70%”,  announced the Guanajuato’s Director of Tourism, Salvador Jaime Arroyo.

He said that this is a very special edition as it is the 15th anniversary of the Guanajuato Mexico Rally, and also due to the return of renowned pilot Sebastian Loeb, a French professional rally, racing, and rallycross driver, who had competed for the Citroën World Rally Team in the World Rally Championship and is one of the most successful drivers in WRC.

Loeb is coming back from retirement, and he decided to participate only in three routes of the World Rally Championship. And guess what? Guanajuato is one of them.

The official said that the week of the Rally several activities will be held prior to the official start of the race on Tuesday, March 6, as the pilots will make a reconnaissance tour along the roads where the different circuits of the rally will be taking place.

This is an important measure taken in order to prevent any incident or vehicular chaos. This reconnaissance is done in coordination with the Federal Highway Patrol (Policía Federal de Caminos).
