On April 21, more than 300 students participated in the regional contest MRobotics, Science Competition, at its headquarters in Universidad Tecnológica del Centro de México UTC, aimed at the promotion of mathematical skills and teamwork, and based on values.
On Saturday April 21, the American Association of Robotics and Technology welcomed students from pre-school to high school, from Querétaro, Salamanca, Irapuato, León and Celaya, for a total of 350 participants in the categories of manufacture, programming and construction of robots.
UTC Rector, Patricia Cuevas Madrigal, stressed that this contest represents a relevant opportunity in the formative life of children, as it is one of the most important phases in education, which values the capacity from the earliest learning stages.
The coordinator of Education of the Celaya municipality, Rosa Isela Hernández, wished the students luck on behalf of Mayor Ramón Lemus Muñoz Ledo and urged the University to continue with this effort: “these extracurricular subjects allow children and young people to learn in a playful way, where technical and mathematical skills are put into practice, through coexistence processes “.
The vice president of the Association, Claudia Ramos, said that it is not enough to manage technologies, but that it is necessary to promote innovation and creativity, that is why the winners will move on to the Robotics World Cup, where they will participate against Central and South American countries, such as Guatemala, El Salvador, Argentina and Colombia. Four teams will be chosen, one of each level of education.
According to the representative of Smart Cubo Guanajuato, Javier Hernández Leyva, this is one of the regional tournaments for the selection of students, who will pass to the following stages, to finally go to Cancun, where students from seven countries will meet for the championship competition.
