AT&T connects San Miguel de Allende

AT & T Mexico finally concluded the project that will connect more than 50,000 residents and tourists from the city of San Miguel de Allende with free Wi-Fi.

According to the US firm, this project is part of the 7 billion dollar investment that AT & T Mexico has set aside to expand its business and deploy network technology throughout the country.

In November 2016, AT & T and municipal authorities of San Miguel de Allende signed an agreement to promote high-speed internet to public spaces in the city, considered a World Heritage Site by Unesco.

It is estimated that more than 1, 600,000 annual visitors to that city will benefit from 4G internet.

Among the sites that will gain from this project will be parks and public squares that will have access to free WiFi to improve the communication experience of residents and visitors.

In addition to the AT & T project, Altán, the partner in charge of deploying and operating the Red Compartida (shared network), which was tendered by the federal government, must provide 4G connectivity to the 111 magical towns in the country.

On March this year, the consortium reported that it already offers connectivity in 29 magical towns.
