The problems of infertility are solved with assisted reproduction treatments, which in Mexico go from 30 to 50% less than in the US, Canada and European countries, so this type of treatment is now positioned as the third most important source of income for medical tourism activity in Mexico.

Prices vary according to the technique used, and can range from 18,000 pesos for artificial insemination, with 15-20% effectiveness, to 120,000 pesos per ovodonation, with 80% effectiveness.

The National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI) reports  figure of 2.6 million cases of infertility that have been treated in Mexico, and each year the number increases by 180,000 cases.

Assisted reproduction is not controllable, as the rest of medicine is not an exact science and although there are great advances in technology, there are many factors that can interfere with the reproductive process. The people who manage to obtain positive results with the first attempt are very few.

pregnancy

The World Health Organization (WHO) defines infertility as the situation of couples who, after a year of having unprotected sex, do not achieve fertilization. According to Ipsos Healthcare, these cases affect 17% of couples in Mexico.

Infertility can be caused by various reasons, whether the age, the lifestyle of couples, ovulation problems, low mobility, absence or malformation of sperm, androgen disorders, endometriosis, among others.

Infertile couples are able to conceive thanks to assisted reproduction treatments, so it is necessary to diagnose and determine the correct treatment for the pregnancy to be successful.
