Looking for a new lifetime best friend? Patitas de Humanidad has 50 dogs up for adoption!

Although there is supposed to be a culture for pet care in the city of San Miguel de Allende, the truth is that there is still a lot of animal abuse and little participation to spay & neuter, and to adopt instead of buying puppies from other people.

From this premise, the group Patitas de Humanidad was created in SMA, which began as the effort and initiative of two local women to care for abused animals.

Margarita Guerra and Sandra Echeverría share a common goal, respect, rescue and care for animals. Sandra Echeverría has already 15 years in the animal rescue in San Miguel de Allende; and Margarita Guerra has started that same work through the Facebook page: Patitas de Humanidad.

Margarita Guerra said that Patitas de Humanidad was created as a civic work. Both pointed out that although they are not constituted in any kind of association, they promote the funding of surgeries for these animals.

Patitas de Humanidad operates with donations of dog food, vaccines, etc. We have 50 dogs in shelter and they are all up for adoption, but most people don’t want to adopt mixed breed dogs, “said Sandra Echeverría.

“The problem is that there are no sanctions for people who mistreat or do not care for their pets, we’ve had reports of horses that passed out from fatigue, burned cats and this is because they don’t teach us to respect animals,” she concluded.
