Sixth Edition of Querétaro’s International Documentary Film Festival; Aug. 17 to 25

The Sixth Edition of the International Documentary Film Festival of Querétaro will take place from August 17 to 25 in the state capital.

In the facilities of the Ministry of Culture (SECULT), director Paulina Aguado Romero, underlined the efforts of all the people who make DOQUMENTA a reality, since they are true pioneers of documentary projection in the state of Querétaro, and their work has allowed artistic expressions of this nature.

Meanwhile, the general director of the International Documentary Film Festival, Aarón García del Real, thanked the constant support to conform a platform for the projection and generation of new audiences that like this cinematographic genre.

It should be noted that 45 feature films and 40 short films, 25 Latin American premieres and five national premieres will be presented, during the nine days of the festival.

The programming will be divided into three programs, LGBT + (program on sexual and gender diversity); FEM (program of female voices); and Side B (technology and creativity program).

In addition, there will be four competitions:

  1. DOQU (university documentary competition)
  2. National
  3. International
  4. Local

Special guests and directors will also meet at the event.

Other interesting conferences and presentatios during the festival are:

  • Alianza Francesa and Festival Lussas
  • HBO’s link with the Toronto International Documentary Film Festival
  • HotDocs
  • Zanate de Colima Festival
