A new ‘Insurgencia 1810’ bell was used for the Grito de Indepencia in San Miguel

The bell of the House of Allende that was used for the Grito de Indepedencia, was replaced by a new one.

It is a 50 kilogram bell named ‘Insurgencia 1810’. It was made in the workshop La Sagrada Familia in the state of Hidalgo and is the one that the San Miguel de Allende mayor rang according to the tradition during the ceremony of the Grito de Independencia, on Saturday, September 15.

For the 208th Anniversary of the call made by the priest Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla with Ignacio Allende and Juan Aldama, the municipal administration decided to place the bell in the Casa de Allende, where every year, the Grito de Independencia takes place.
