Guanajuato governor Miguel Marquez Marquez, along with more than 50 other riders conformed the Independence Parade, which route in the direction of Dolores Hidalgo, announces the Homeland Festival that will be lived during midnight tonight in this town where in 1810, the priest Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla gave the “Grito” of Independence , historical fact that generally attracts local and national tourists.

However, the influx of visitors isn not s considerable compared to previous years, at least this is what the people of Dolores Hidalgo appreciate at first sight.

“Dolores Hidalgo Independence horseback Parade is becoming a big tradition in the cradle of Mexican Independence” said Antonio Gomez, born and raised in this municipality.

Those who undoubtedly noticed the absence of tourists were the restauranteurs, merchants and business owners, but especially those who are dedicated to the sale of the traditional Dolores Hidalgo icecreams, traditional and typical dessert of this municipality.
