Guanajuato present at Paris “Who’s Next” fashion fair

Companies from the fashion sector of Guanajuato participated in the Who’s Next fair that took place in Paris, France, where they obtained good results, projecting long-term sales of 10 thousand euros.

Erika Alicia Chávez Posada, Fashion Sector Dressing Coordinator detailed that this fair is one of the main fashion events in the world that brings together actors of ready-to-wear and fashion accessories. This “Premiere Classe” event also features accessories of leather, jewelery and, to a lesser extent, other type of garments. During this fair, the spring-summer 2019 trends are showcased too.

The presence of Mexican products increased in comparison to other editions, while Guanajuato continues to be the state with the largest participation in this event;

In this edition, the Coordinator of Foreign Trade Promotion (Coordinadora de Fomento al Comercio Exterior: COFOCE) supported Guanajuato companies such as Splendore Mx, Monica Xerrano, Crown Princess Luxury Leather, Maria Mia, Makena and Paulina Ortega.

Chávez Posada mentioned that among the Mexican products that were promoted in the event, there were swimsuits, hats and jewelry accessories; while Guanajuato, was the only Mexican exhibitor that presented articles of leather goods and garments in traditional textiles with luxury design.

She added that this year a more varied collection was introduced to the European market in terms of quality, color and manufacturing; however, in some cases the opportunity area is still the price, due to logistics costs.

“We are looking for a logistics partner or distributor to act as representatives or importers, in order to decrease logistics costs and become more competitive in the market, for the benefit of companies in Guanajuato”, Chávez Posada said.

The Fashion Sector Dressing Coordinator noted that 15 contacts were achieved for business opportunities. These companies have requested more information about their products, catalogs and price lists, as well as the exportable offer of other companies part of the Guanajuato’s Fashion Cluster.
