Due to works are bieng carried out by the Municipal System of Water and Sewerage of Guanajuato (Sistema Municipal de Agua Potable y Alcantarillado de Guanajuato), the main street is closed from El Campanero to Juan Valle; the road is supposed to be reopened on Sep. 27.
If you’re planning to visit the state capital of Guanajuato, you need to know that some of the main streets in the downtown area are closed to traffic, from the junction of El Campanero to Juan Valle street.
A Guanajuato police officer declared in an interview with Periodico Correo, that the street that passes in front of San Pedro Park has been closed to traffic due to construction work being done by the Municipal System of Drinking Water and Sewerage of Guanajuato (Sistema Municipal de Agua Potable y Alcantarillado de Guanajuato: Simapag) at the corner of Main Street with Matavacas St.
Therefore the streets of Cantarranas, El Baratillo, Las Tenazas and Plaza de la Paz are closed to vehicular traffic until further notice.
