“We need to make radical changes in terms of public security”: was the first message sent by the new Governor of Guanajuato, Diego Sinhué Vallejo, as he spoke to the Law Enforcement and Public Security State Forces.
“Public security will be the main and most urgent task of my government. Every start is a new opportunity to improve things, and that is why we will have to make radical changes in the security strategy, “said Governor Diego Sinhue Rodríguez Vallejo when heading the State Command Protocol of the Public Security Corps of Guanajuato .
“I affirm my commitment to work every day so that Guanajuato can regain security. I know very well that it will be a task that will require all our effort and energy, but I also know that the people of Guanajuato is counting on their law enforcement officers, brave women and men who form the Security Forces of our state. The citizens, with their vote, have deposited in me and in my government the high responsibility of protecting their lives and integrity, “he said.
In his message to the law enforcement and public security state corporations, the State Executive said that the main responsibility of any ruler is to fulfill and enforce law. “Mexico has experienced an alarming increase in acts of crime over the past four years, especially in violent criminal acts”, the governor declared.
The entire country has been hit in an unprecedented manner by crime, “he continued.
Therefore, the governor instructed the Secretary of Government and the Secretary of Public Security to fulfill the six priorities of this new strategy:
FIRST.- The creation of the State Security Council, which shall ensure the adequate coordination of federal, state and municipal forces.
SECOND, The permanent strengthening of the capacities of the state government in the prevention and fight against crime.
THIRD.- Strengthening the capacities of law enforcement in order to make those responsible for crimes, pay for their actions, and avoid impunity.
FOURTH.- Improve the performance of the municipal police, with financial resources and concrete policies to raise their capacities, and thus achieve better trained and better paid police officers.
FIFTH.- The daily work to bring justice to the citizens and provide the proper attention to victims of crime with humanity and effectiveness.
SIXTH.– Strengthening the social cohesion, and bring more income opportunities and welfare to all the different communities of the state.
Meanwhile, the Secretary of Government, Luis Ernesto Ayala Torres, mentioned that to comply with the instructions of the Governor, Diego Sinhue Rodríguez Vallejo, the following actions are being promoted:
1. Work to strengthen the municipal police, “For this we will have to coordinate with the mayors to have professional municipal police, well trained, motivated and equipped”.
2. The management police will be promoted within the municipal police with the creation of a special crime prevention group with trained agents to listen to and meet the needs of citizens. ”
3. The strengthening of the enforcement of justice will be addressed to improve the liaison and coordination between the police and the public ministry. “Face and overcoming the security challenge in Guanajuato requires the greatest coordination with the other orders of the government and the interior, with all the dependencies of state public security.
