AMLO puts the capital’s new airport to a vote

In order to vote for the new Airport in Mexico City, 44 voting tables will be installed in 18 different municipalities across the state of Guanajuato, mainly in León, Irapuato and Celaya, where half of the voting booths will be installed in these three municipalities.

The tables will be open from 8 in the morning until 6 in the afternoon and to participate, citizens only need to present their elector’s credential (INE).

Voting participants will be given a ballot with the following question:

Given the saturation of the International Airport of Mexico City: Which option do you think is best for the country?

First option: Recondition the current Mexico City and Toluca airports and build two runways at the Santa Lucia air base.

Second option: Continue with the construction of the new airport in Texcoco and stop using the current International Airport of Mexico City.
