The fourth stage of the Pan American Race arrived in San Miguel de Allende with the spectacular classic cars that characterize this traditional event that has been organized every year in Mexico for more than half a century.
62 cars left on Tuesday October 16, early in the morning from Morelia, Michoacan to cover the Cumbres stage and arrive in San Miguel de Allende.
The cars, pilots and co-drivers were received in front of La Aldea, in one of the most famous areas of San Miguel de Allende, which has been the scene of films like “Once upon a time in Mexico”.
The Panamericana Race began last Thursday October 11 in Oaxaca and will end this weekend in Durango. It is the most famous Mexican car race and one of the most intense for its extreme, long journey across the Mexican territory.
Believe ir or not, some of the classic automobiles that came to San Miguel de Allende this week, have modified engines that reach speeds of up to 250 kilometers per hour.
Among the classics were Porsche, Ford Mustang, Buick, Volvo, Mercedes, and Mini Cooper, one of them driven by Mexican television host Luz Blanchet.
The pilots spent the night in San Miguel and continued with the route on Wednesday morning, when they left bound to the next stop, Zacatecas.
