Citizen Consultation says “YES” to the ten projects proposed by the AMLO adminstration

The second citizen consultation organized by the incoming government concluded with broad support for the 10 priority projects that were submitted to vote by Mexican citizens nationwide, since practically 90% of the votes in each point were “Yes”.

In this way, the government that will take office on Saturday, December 1, documents the support for different projects such as the construction of the Maya Train that will connect five southern states, the Petróleos Mexicanos (Pemex) refinery in Dos Bocas, Tabasco, and another railroad route that will connect the Pacific with the Atlantic through the Isthmus of Tehuantepec.

A total of 946,081 citizens attended to more than one thousand polling stations across the country to express their opinion.

Results:

1. Build the Maya Train that will connect the states of Chiapas, Tabasco, Campeche, Yucatan and Quintana Roo, which will boost economy and tourism.

2. Connect by means of a train the Pacific and Atlantic oceans to develop the Isthmus of Tehuantepec in Oaxaca and reactivate the economy in the region.

3. Build a refinery in Dos Bocas, Tabasco to produce gasoline with the oil extracted by Pemex.

4. Plant fruit and timber trees on one million hectares, creating 400 thousand permanent jobs.
