From Political Campaign to Theocracy?

ST. LOUIS COUNTY – A large electronic billboard that features President Donald Trump with the bible verse, “The word became flesh”, can be seen along the southbound lanes of the highway on Interstate 170 near St. Charles Rock Road Missouri.

In the top right corner, the billboard says “Make the Gospel Great Again” playing off Trump’s famous slogan. So far, it is not clear who paid for it.

But… from a theological perspective, do you know what this means?

The verse is John 1:14 and has been described as “the central verse in the Scripture”. Here is the full verse:
“And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, full of grace and truth;  we have beheld his glory, glory as of the Son from the father.”

We asked a catholic priest and a minister. This is what they expained to us.

” It describes God’s decisive act to defeat evil and to redeem lost and hurting mankind. When God entered human flesh, He proclaimed his intention to reclaim human kind from the power of the devil. It also describes the choice of the eternal God, to become vulnerable human flesh and to dwell among sinful humanity. It shows the love of the creator for His creation. God became flesh and walked next to us.

John the apostle described how Christ early followers saw  Jesus for what was. John said “we beheld his glory, the glory of the only begotten from the father.”
