On Thursday Dec. 13, members of civil organizations protested in the plenary session against the so-called “automatic pass” of the prosecutor Carlos Zamarripa Aguirre to the Attorney General’s Office.
Activists from the civil group known as “Guanajuato Despertó” and “# Porunafiscalíaquesirva” raised their voices during the session against the PAN representatives, who a few days ago anticipated their support for Zamarripa to jump from the PGJE to the prosecution. During the protest, the president of the Congress, Lorena Alfaro García, suspended the session for ten minutes. Legislators from the PAN political party left the session room amid the demonstrators shouts.
“Do not interrupt us, we want a safe Guanajuato, we do not want more violence. We do not want to continue in pools of blood, Zamarripa has not given any results and you are accomplices of that “,” White-collar thieves! “,” Listen to the people! “,” Hypocrites! ” the protesters shouted.
On the site, the demonstrators placed flyers with messages on a Christmas tree, in which they expressed their rejection at the actions of the State Government and the PAN representatives for imposing Zamarripa for 9 years in the Office of the Prosecutor, when he has already been in the Attorney’s Office for 9 years, without giving any positive results.
“The businessmen elite do not represent us”, “we do not want Zamarripa as prosecutor”, they emphasized.
Raymundo Sandoval, of the collective “# Porunafiscalíaquesirva”, pointed out that Carlos Zamarripa does not guarantee independence or autonomy for the people of Guanajuato.
