Four dead and 25 injured after fireworks explosion in Tequisquiapan, Queretaro

Four people killed, two of them torn apart, and around 25 people injured is the preliminary balance of the massive pyrotechnics explosion in the town of Fuentezuelas in the municipality of Tequisquiapan, Querétaro on December 11. The firewroks were storaged and were supposed to be used in a religious celebration at the church of this community.

The terrible accident occurred shortly after 6 am, when faithful Catholics were getting ready to participate in an event on the occasion of the previous celebrations to honor the Virgin of Guadalupe, for which they had disposed of a considerable amount of fireworks.

The participants in the celebration were carrying boxes and packages full of pyrotecnics, when they suddenly began to explode, three people who were carrying them in their arms were literally torn up, and their remains were found scattered outside the chapel, while a minor who was also at the scene died minutes later from serious injuries.

Minutes of terror were experienced in the area when people who were in the place began to run trying to escape the explosion, many of them were hit, so at least 25 people are reported injured and burned.
