Clandestine fuel outlet detected in San Juan del Río

San Juan del Río, Queretaro.- On Thursday Jan 24, a hydrocarbon spill was registered in a clandestine Pemex pipeline tap, in the community of Santa Matilde, in San Juan del Río.

The leak of gasoline was discovered during a surveillance operation conducted by personnel of the Mexican Army, who spotted the jet of hydrocarbon that was approximately two meters high.

Immediately the area was sheltered and the San Juan del Río Fire Department was notified. Firefighters arrived to corroborate that there was no risk, and local authorities gave notice to Pemex personnel, who worked in the area to close the outlet. The tapping was located in the middle of a field, steps away from a rural road.

No arrests have been made in relation to this incident.
