Jan. 21st: 250th anniversary of the birth of SMA’s icon, Ignacio Allende
SAN MIGUEL DE ALLENDE, Gto. (OEM-Informex). – With a civic – military parade featuring more than 63 groups from different schools and civil organizations, a tribute in honor of the Generalissimo Don Ignacio de Allende y Unzaga was held in San Miguel on Monday January 21st, as part of the 250th anniversary of the birth of this beloved San Miguel hero.
With the permission of the municipal authorities the groups marched down the city streets. The parade had the participation of elementary (primary), secondary, preparatory and university students.
There were also special guests of honor such as the Dolores Hidalgo School of Nursing, a Charrería group and officers of SEDENA corresponding as part of a batallion from the 16th Military Zone as well as 12 agents of municipal police.
