Thousands of San Miguel residents begin their annual journey towards the church of the Blessed Virgin of San Juan de los Lagos, 240 kilometers (150 miles) west.

On the early morning hours of Thursday Jan. 24, the march left Comonfort heading to the Parish of San Antonio de Padua, and then to the Mountain of Christ the King (Montaña de Cristo Rey).
