Violent wave hits Valle de Santiago, Gto.

On January 30th, the PRI politician and businessman, Juan Cárdenas Orozco, was shot dead while driving his black SUV and, just a few meters away from the main entrance to hotel SanLu, owned by his family, this on Mena Street, downtown ​​Valle de Santiago, Gto .

 According to the information gathered in the place, the current leader of the PRI political party in this municipality, was intercepted by armed men while driving his car, and was shot several time at point-blank range with high caliber weapons.

 Relatives, employees and neighbors of Juan Cárdenas approached the place and could only verify that around 17:00 hours, the man had lost his life. No one knew anything about the perpetrators, only versions that armed men on board a light-colored truck, shot the man and fled the scene.

Agents of the Single Command, and experts of the Criminal Investigation Agency arrived on site to raise the evidence.

 Shortly after 6:00 pm, personnel from the Forensic Medical Service arrived, who took the body of the former candidate to Valle de Santiago mayor for the autopsy of the law. The victim’s vehicle was also seized by local authorities.

Valle de Santiago municipal president, Alejandro Alanís Chávez, declared that the criminal acts that took place in recent days are unprecedented in the city (30 murders in 30 days). “Never in the history of our municipality had we suffered a series of murders of this nature,” he said.

 He stressed that these are matters that are already in the hands of the Attorney General’s Office, “we trust in the performance of the Attorney General’s Office for the clarification of these crimes.” He also requested the permanent presence of the Army in the municipality and support from the state government.

 
“We are going to summon them in concrete actions and programs so that together we can combat insecurity,” he concluded.

José Luis Nieto Montoya, former mayor and ex-candidate for the municipal presidency for Morena, said that “given the inability of the authorities to provide security, he demands high rank officials to be allowed to carry weapons for self protection. “Because we feel like we are on our own against crime,” said Nieto Montoya.
