A video that has gone viral on social networks shows the moment a group of people brutally beats an alleged assailant in the streets of Ecatepec, in the State of Mexico.

As the man was committing the robbery, one of the passengers noticed that the gun was carrying blanks, alerted the rest and they all jumped on him.

The images show how a group of people kick and rip the clothes off a young man accused of assaulting passengers traveling in a public transport vehicle on Los Aztecas Boulevard, in the neighborhood known as Ciudad Azteca, one of the most dangerous in all of Mexico City Metropolitan Area.

Kill the son of … kill him, we don’t want anymore rats. Take his clothes off … “, say the people while hitting the subject, who tries to cover his face as he is being beating up. “We are fed up with crime; kill the son of … “, cried the participants in the lynch attempt.

The video, which lasts almost two minutes, was posted on the “Ecatepec, Ciudadanos Unidos” Facebook account. According to witnesses, the events took place on the night of Saturday, March 9.

These type of situations are taking place more and more oftenly, in towns and cities all over Mexico. The federal, state and municipal authorities are not able to contain criminal activity, that goes from armed robbery, extorsion, battery and assault; to kidnapping, rape and murder. Not to mention drug trafficking and Huachicoleo.

The AMLO administration is working on different security related projects, such as the creation of the new National Guard. But the reality is that insecurity and criminal activity is getting worse by the minute in different parts of Mexico, such as the State of Mexico, Guanajuato, Baja California and even in the state of Quintana Roo that used to be a quiet place to spend a nice vacation.

People all over Mexico is waiting for the authorities to come up with solutions, but all we´re seeing is more insecurity, more crime and not much being done about it.
