More than 300 facades along the Historic Center of San Miguel de Allende are being rehabilitated for free to maintain the beauty of the city, which is Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
7,500 square meters of outdoor paintings will be intervened, with an investment of 2.8 million pesos that are part of the ‘Facade Improvement in the Historic Center’ program, carried out by the Ministry of Culture through the Directorate of Historic Sites and Monuments.
The actions began on Canal Street and continue in Insurgentes, on the stretch from San Antonio Abad to Loreto, as well as from the corner of Loreto and Relox, to Calzada de la Luz. The tasks will conclude on December 15.
In addition, the fronts of the Temple of Sorrows, on Piedras Chinas street, as well as the Temple of the Oratory and the Historical Museum of Allende (Ignacio Allende House) are intervened.
Francisco García, director of the Historical and Heritage Center, commented that together with the facades in the mentioned streets, fronts located in different points of the Historic Center will be painted.
He said the program is free for all housing real estate properties, while for businesses, support is requested from the owners, either with labor or in the purchase of paint.
