Municipal government shuts down 2 banks in SMA

San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato (April 22, 2020).- Two banks in the city have been closed for failing to comply with sanitary measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and put the health of citizens at risk.

On the afternoon of Wednesday April 22, Civil Protection personnel closed down the branch of Banco BBVA Bancomer, located on Calle Juárez, for “putting everyone’s health at risk.”

Also on April 22, the government of San Miguel de Allende closed down a Banco Azteca branch for failing to comply with sanitary measures to prevent the spread of the coronavirus (Covid-19).

Through his Twitter account, the mayor Luis Alberto Villarreal García stated: “it is incredible the voracity of Banco Azteca and the lack of commitment to its employees and our people.”

“It’s unacceptable that everyone is making sacrifices and Banco Azteca putting everyone’s health at risk,” Villareal García concluded.
