SMA is decoding and reengineering the “Weddings and Events” travel business

Guanajuato, April 16, 2021. 160 members of the weddings and events value chain, including 122 women and 38 men, from 16 municipalities, were trained in the course “Decoding and Reengineering the Wedding and Events Business for 2021 ”, provided by the Guanajuato Secretariat of Tourism.


Through the professional bodies “International Association of Destination Wedding Professionals”, “Destination Wedding Specialist Association” and “International Floral Design & Events Consultant Association”, SECTUR provided tools to the Romance Industry to adapt to current trends in weddings and romance events; as well as diversify and find new business opportunities in the market.
In this course, in which caterers, event organizers and producers, Tourism Directorates, Convention and Visitors Offices (OCV), venues and furniture rental participated, the topics were discussed: “Reinvent your wedding and event business”, “Rethink your marketing strategy”, “Update your sales speech”, “Formalities, legalities and prevention”, “Small big weddings”, “Let’s go back to minute by minute”, and “Expectations and realities in decoration and trends 2021”.


Of the total members, 40 people from the municipalities of Guanajuato, Comonfort, Irapuato, Dolores Hidalgo CIN, León, San Miguel de Allende, Celaya, Silao and San Felipe, participated in person.


And 120 people from the municipalities of Celaya, Dolores Hidalgo CIN, Guanajuato, Irapuato, León, Pénjamo, Salvatierra, San Felipe, San José Iturbide, San Luis de la Paz, San Miguel de Allende, Silao, Valle de Santiago and Yuriria, participated virtually.
