San Miguel is ready for the patron saint festivities, but these may be canceled

San Miguel Mayor Gonzalo González said that they are already preparing the 2021 patron saint festivities of this municipality, although he revealed that it is not yet a fact that they will be held. He said that if the pandemic allows it, they will be prepared.

In this municipality, the custom is that the fair begins after the ceremony of the Cry of Independence, on September 16th; that is, the last two weeks of September and the first of October.

In 2020, these activities were canceled due to the pandemic and people were hoping that they could’ve been resumed in 2021.

A week ago, the mayor of San Luis de la Paz announced that the patron saint festivities of that municipality would not be held in August, as is the custom, but would probably be delayed until December, but that this will depend on the evolution of the pandemic and of the vaccination process.

The same will happen in San Miguel de Allende, although with less time because if the fair takes place, the authorities would have to start hiring the artists who would be performing.

The mayor also said that they are still analyzing whether the Cry of Independence ceremony will be held in a public space or whether it will be broadcast on social networks, as was done back in 2020.
