Samsung, a South Korean technology corporation, announced a $500 million USD investment to boost production at its operations in Querétaro and Tijuana.

Following a meeting with Han Jong-Hee, president of Samsung Electronics, Marcelo Ebrard Casaubón, Mexico’s Secretary of Foreign Affairs, verified the information via his social media accounts.

“Good news, I met with Samsung Electronics President Han Jong-Hee, and he confirmed a 500 million dollar investment in Querétaro and Tijuana.” Ebrard wrote on social networks.

Since the late 1980s, Samsung has operated in Mexico, and, in the words of the SRE’s director, “Samsung is a trusted and productive partner.”

The aforementioned took place as part of his work visit to South Korea, which was intended to foster trade between the two nations.

On July 4, Marcelo Ebrard began his journey in Seoul, South Korea. On July 7 and 8, he continued his working tour in Bali, Indonesia, where he attended the G20 foreign ministers’ conference.
