CANIRAC President says San Miguel is ready for Semana Santa

San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato. – The hotel occupancy at 100 percent during the past long weekend, is the main point of reference of the Holy Week. San MIguel’s hotel occupation is expected to be sold out by Thursday, April 6th.

Francisco Aguirre, president of the National Chamber of the Restaurant Industry and Seasoned Foods (Canirac) declared that San Miguel de Allende is ready, willing and able to welcome thousand of visitors during Semana Santa.

He continued, “We hope that at Easter there will be 100 percent occupancy, on Friday and Saturday, perhaps also on Thursday with 90 percent.”

“Holy Week is one of the best times of the year for tourism in SMA, because most people travel on Holy Week and then go back to work on Easter week,” he added.

Finally, Francisco Aguirre emphasized that “restaurateurs are always ready to welcome tourists and provide an excellent service because hundreds of people will be visiting the different restaurants in town,” he concluded.
