174 intentional homicides were committed during the weekend in Mexico

Over the weekend, from January 19 to 21, 174 intentional homicides were committed in the country, a decrease of 41 cases, compared to the same period last week, when 215 murders were recorded, according to figures from the Secretariat. Executive of the National Public Security System (SESNSP).

On this occasion, the state of Guerrero ranked first in terms of lethal violence, with 21 people murdered in the three days of the weekend, followed by Nuevo León with 19 victims.

The report Victims reported for the crime of homicides (State Prosecutors’ Offices and Federal Agencies) established that last weekend 18 people were murdered in the State of Mexico.

In the states of Baja California, Guanajuato, and Michoacán, the murder of 14 people was reported, by entity; while in Chihuahua, Jalisco, and Puebla, 9 murders were committed, per state.
