Car thieves from the State of Mexico are arrested in San Miguel

San Miguel de Allende, Gto. The Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSC) of San Miguel de Allende managed to arrest several individuals belonging to a cell from the State of Mexico dedicated to vehicle theft in the city.

The events took place in the parking lot of the Tianguis Municipal, where Municipal Police officers observed several people behaving suspiciously as they loitered among the parked cars.

Given this situation, the police approached four men and one woman to carry out a routine check. However, upon realizing the police presence, they tried to flee in a red vehicle without success. During the inspection of the car, 11 automotive computers were found without documentation proving their ownership or origin.

The individuals were transferred to the Municipal Preventive Separations along with the vehicle and the insured objects. In addition, the C4 Operations Center identified them as suspects in other vehicle thefts in different areas of the city, including the Jardines and Insurgentes subdivisions.

The detainees, originally from the State of Mexico, were identified as Edna Alejandra “N”, Ricardo “N”, Alonso Josué “N”, Lino Gerardo “N” and José Yael “N”. One of them has a record of crimes against health, vehicle theft and violent robbery of passers-by.

The SSC urges any person who has been a victim of the theft of an automotive “module” to file a complaint with the Regional Prosecutor’s Office D of the FGEG to seek compensation for property damage.
