Man is sentenced to 52 years in prison for double murder in San Miguel

The Guanajuato Prosecutor’s Office obtained a 52-year prison sentence for Rodolfo, alias El Rodo, for his participation in the clandestine murder and burial of two brothers in Colonia Los Laureles, also known as Loma Blanca.

San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato (February 23, 2024).- The case, which shook the community, arose from an intense investigation that led the Criminal Investigation Agents to a farm on Higuera Street, where they discovered the bodies of tow brother, Haniel and Israel N.B.; who were buried in a shallow improvised grave, covered with lime and a cement slab in the backyard of the property.

According to the evidence gathered, both brothers were deprived of their liberty on August 2020, and then transferred to the place where El Rodo perpetrated the crimes and buried the bodies.

Following his capture by the Prosecutor’s Office and his association with criminal proceedings for qualified homicide, an oral trial was held in which the Public Prosecutor’s Office presented a strong argument supported by expert, testimonial and material evidence.

During oral proceedings, the Public Prosecutor’s Office of the State of Guanajuato made available to the judge several pieces of evidence, expert’s opinion, witnesses’ testimonies and material, which served to demonstrate “El Rodo’s” responsibility for the double murder, and so he was sentenced to 52 years in prison.
