Despite being held in pretrial detention in a high-security prison in London, Assange is fighting his extradition to the United States on charges related to computer espionage and intrusion.

His case has generated attention both locally and internationally, triggering an intense debate about freedom of expression and the role of journalism in contemporary society.

The demonstration is part of international support for Assange and his struggle, highlighting the importance of protecting journalists who spread the truth and promote transparency in the public sphere.

The protest where they asked for their release took place in the main square of San Miguel de Allende, although for a long time the support has been present from the city with banners and tarpaulins hung on the facades of several houses.
