San Miguel de Allende, Gto. San Miguel de Allende has once again been recognized nationally as the Best Gastronomic Destination of Mexico, by the prestigious Food and Travel magazine, consolidating once again as a renowned culinary epicenter in the country.

During the Food And Travel Reader Awards 2023, San Miguel de Allende surpassed prominent cities such as Mexico City, La Paz, Los Cabos, Oaxaca and Puebla, receiving this coveted award that celebrates the richness and diversity of its gastronomic offer.

At the award ceremony, municipal representatives, including Tania Castillo, director of Economic Development and Tourism, together with the president of the National Chamber of the Restaurant and Food Industry (Canirac SMA), Francisco Aguirre, highlighted the joint effort of the entire Sanmiguelense community in obtaining this achievement.

Mayor Mauricio Trejo emphasized that this recognition is not only the merit of the tourism sector, but of all the workers involved in the gastronomic industry, from waiters to chefs, and stressed the crucial role they play in creating a memorable experience for national and international visitors.
