San Miguel residents demonstrated in favor of democracy

More than 250 citizens demonstrated asking for respect for electoral institutions and the right to a free vote in Mexico.

Business owners and organized civil society met to defend independent democracy and to provide a framework of legality in the upcoming elections.

Maria Guadalupe commented that they are marching to defend their democracy, our institutions, our freedom and to have a free Mexico, democracy means alternation and since 2000 we have been a country of alternations, this year we hope it will not be the exception.

We are in defense of all our institutions, our votes, all the autonomous constitutions that have been the balance of this country and we are happy to be able to join this group of wonderful San Miguel citizens who have a single purpose.

The march left the dawn towards the downtown area along Hidalgo Street, Insurgentes, San Francisco until reaching the main garden of San Miguel de Allende where more than 250 citizens demonstrated asking for respect for electoral institutions and for a free Mexico.
