The work of the artist Eduardo Santana, which is titled “Cuxéya” and which integrates pieces using the grana cochineal technique, will be exhibited at Casa Europa in San Miguel de Allende, on March 7, after its exhibition at the Zacatecano Museum .
Eduardo Santana shared the satisfaction that he feels from continuing to roam with this collection in which he addresses the Wixárika cosmogony , the result of extensive research, documentation and even several coexistences with the community to learn more about their culture.
He celebrated that Casa Europa, a Civil Association where they carry out exchanges with various countries of the European Union, now shows its artistic work , especially because of the similarity it finds between San Miguel de Allende and Zacatecas, in its rise of artistic movements and heritage cities.
He commented that “Cuxéya” is also an exhibition in tribute to the memory of his mother Angelita Santana, who also stood out for her activity as a painter and founder of the longest-running drawing workshop in Guadalupe, Zacatecas.
The artist announced that in addition to the exhibition, he will teach a workshop on the cochineal grana technique, which is unusual despite its age , especially due to the high cost of the materials. He added that it is a practice that he learned in Oaxaca, and that he plans to promote more in various places in the country.
